How to Make a Duct Tape Flower Pen
Note: As you read through the following steps, feel frere to click on the image to the left, so that you could get a better look at my example.
Materials:
* Duct tape (color or pattern of your choice)
* Pen
* Scissors
Let's get started!
Step 1: Once you have all of your materials, cut out four 2 in. x 2 in. square duct tape pieces and put them aside.
Step 2: Take one of your little pieces, and fold the two top corners in, forming a triangle with a little bit of adhesive side at the bottom of the folded triangle. (These will soon be the flower petals.) Repeat four times for each of your squares.
Step 3: Get out your pen, and wrap the sticky part of your folded triangle around the TOP part of the pen. (petal #1)
Step 4: Take your second little piece of folded duct tape, and this time, wrap the sticky part around the top of the pen, but on the opposite side of the first piece. (petal #2)
Step 5: This time, you are going to wrap the third piece around between the first and second petals, leaving a gap and space for the fourth petal. (petals #3 and #4)
Step 6: Now that you have used up all of the four petals, you are going to make four more.
Step 7: At the top of the pen, you should have the tips of the four triangles sticking out, forming a perfect square with the tips.
Step 8: Repeat all of step #2, and wrap petal #5 around, with the tip of the triangle between petals #1 and #2. Repeat the same process for petals #6, #7, and #8.
Step 9: Now that you have your eight base petals wrapped around the top of the pen, you are going to cut out another four 2 in. by 2 in. squares, and repeat step #2. Next, take petal #9, and line up the tip of the triangle exactly with the tip of petal #1. (make sure that it is not to low, nor too high)
Step #10: Do this same "lining up" process with petals number #10, #11, and #12.
Step #11: Now that you've got the hang of this, just keep following these same steps, until your craft looks like a blooming flower. Remember that it's okay if you do not get it right the first time around. All you have to do is keep trying and practicing, and you'll get it in no time!
